Who this covers
This policy describes how the Law Office of George P. Kadifa ("the firm," "we," "us") collects, uses, and protects information from visitors to kadifalaw.com and from clients and prospective clients of the firm.
Information we collect
We collect only information you provide to us directly, which may include:
- Your name, telephone number, and email address
- Your mailing address
- Information about your legal matter that you choose to share with us
- Court dates, hearing locations, and case numbers associated with your matter
We do not collect information from visitors who simply browse this website. This site does not use advertising trackers, and it does not sell or share browsing data.
Text messaging and your mobile number
If you are a client of the firm and you provide your mobile telephone number, we may send you text messages about your matter. These messages are limited to:
- Reminders of upcoming court dates and hearings
- Notices when a court date is scheduled, changed, or cancelled
- Appointment reminders and confirmations
Consent. We send these messages only to clients who have given the firm their mobile number for this purpose, either in a signed engagement agreement or by providing the number to us directly. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of representation, and you may decline without affecting your case in any way.
Opting out. Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts from the firm. Reply HELP for assistance. Opting out of text messages does not affect your representation; we will continue to reach you by telephone, email, or mail.
Frequency and cost. Message frequency varies with the activity in your case. Message and data rates may apply according to your mobile plan.
No sale or sharing of mobile data. Mobile telephone numbers and SMS consent obtained by the firm are never sold, rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. No mobile opt-in information is shared with any third party except the messaging service provider that delivers messages on our behalf, and that provider may use it only to deliver those messages.
Text message reminders are provided as a courtesy. They do not replace official notice from the court, and they are not a substitute for confirming your court date with the firm or the court. Message delivery depends on your carrier and cannot be guaranteed.
How we use your information
We use the information you give us to provide legal services, communicate with you about your matter, maintain our records, and meet our professional and legal obligations. We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell it.
Confidentiality
Communications between the firm and its clients are protected by the attorney-client privilege and by the duty of confidentiality under the California Rules of Professional Conduct. Information transmitted through this website before an attorney-client relationship is established may not be privileged, so please do not send confidential details through the website.
Service providers
We use third-party services to operate the firm, including practice management software and a messaging provider that delivers text messages on our behalf. These providers are bound to handle information only as needed to provide their service to the firm.
Your choices
You may ask us at any time what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to stop contacting you by a particular method. Records we are required to retain as part of a client file are kept in accordance with our professional obligations.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
